For Karina and Quintin's dreamy sunset Engagement Session we drove across the island from Waimanalo to Yokohama Bay, the East side of the island to the farthest Western tip. We cruised with the windows down, blasted Brother Iz's,"Take Me Home Country Road" where he sings:
Almost Heaven, West Makaha,
high-ridge mountain, crystal-clear blue water.
All my friends there hanging on da beach,
young and old among them,
feel the ocean breeze.
Country road, take me home,
to the place I belong,
West Makaha, Mount Ka'ala.
If you've ever been over to the West Side, then you know why people say West Side, Best Side! Staring out at the vast Pacific Ocean, we pulled up to Yokohama Bay's dirt road as spinner dolphins jumped over the horizon- it's moments like these we pause to remind ourselves just how truly blessed we are.
Karina and Quintin met back in College, fast forward to today and they're now engaged! They are living proof that chivalry isn’t dead after-all. For the last eight years, Quintin has been opening the car door for her whenever they go out. Karina has gotten into such a routine, she even waits for him to open the door when she's only out with her friends! Love is a beautiful thing.
